I'm amazed by the people who say the recent protests in Taiwan are a sign democracy doesn't work. These protest show exactly why democracy does work. People have a voice and when the government oversteps its bounds, the people can speak out. These students aren't overthrowing the government, Taiwan is not descending into anarchy. This is democracy in action and it's a beautiful thing.
